Wakefield ESF / LSC Coordinated NEET Response Fund
Round 2 Specification Consultation
Wakefield Council is giving notice of intention to commission Round 2 of services under the Wakefield allocation of the managed Learning Skills Council (LSC) European Social Fund (ESF) Coordinated NEET Response Fund.
It is intended to commission services for young people aged 16, 17 and 18 who are Not in Employment, Education or Training (NEET), with a focus on but not exclusively, Care leavers and Looked After Children.
A draft specification has been developed and Wakefield Council is extending an invitation to attend a consultation event to enable individuals / organisations to comment on the draft specification.
When: Wednesday 20th January 1.00pm - 3.00pm
Where: The Old Restaurant, Town Hall, Wakefield
This is an open consultation process and all interested parties are invited to attend and / or to submit comments, including (this list is indicative not exhaustive):
- Leaving Care Services
- Looked After Children Services
- Providers of NEET programmes
- Independent Sector (private, voluntary and community) service providers
- Wakefield Council Family Services and other services
- Third Sector organisations working with young people
Young people from the target group are being consulted separately.
It is anticipated that the service specification will be approved and the procurement process will start during February 2010, with a view to service provision starting during September 2010.
