Wakefield Together

What is Wakefield Together?
Wakefield Together is the local strategic partnership (LSP) for the Wakefield District. It brings together key agencies in the District who deliver the many services and activities that affect the lives of people who live, work, visit and do business in the area. Wakefield Together is made up of representatives from public service agencies such as the Council and Police, voluntary and community sector organisations such as VOX, and also local business.
The Partnership works on the idea that many of today's problems cannot be dealt with by just one organisation working alone. They usually cut across the responsibilities of different organisations and it is often the case that only by working together can these problems be dealt with more successfully.
What does the Partnership look like?

In December 2009 it was agreed that Wakefield Together would change from having four thematic partnerships to two from April 2010:
- Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership
- Children & Young People Partnership
Areas of the Partnership's work previously covered by other thematic partnerships such as health inequalities and worklessness are now covered by 'Task & Finish' Groups.
NB. This structure is now under review due to changes in Government and public service budget reductions.
